Why more than 50% men are garbage in South Korea?

1. Family violence perpetrator gender ratio

According Legal Aid Center Korea, the family violence perpetrators are mainly male. The graph below indicated that 89.7% of perpetrators are male while 10.3% are female.

2. Average minutes per day men spend on unpaid housework

In South Korea, most people think women have to do housework, even if man and woman both have full time job due to strong Confusion ideas. 3. Prostitution on sex

In 2013, according to Ministry of Gender Equality and Family of Korea, 56.7% of men in Korea have experienced prostitution.

This statistics below were investigated in 2010. The graph indicates that 39.2% of men in Korea have experienced prostitution in last year. Also, 40.43% of men who have experience prostitution were married and 36.84% of men were divorced according to Ministry of Gender Equality and Family of Korea.

4. South Korean online comunity

As internet in South Korea is very fast and penetration rates of electric devices are very high, online communities are very developed. There are many discriminatory websites towards women and they make up words to disparage women in Korea.

1) Ilbe

The number of users of this website is more than 6 million (2015). The population of Korea is 50.22 million (2015) which indicates that 10.87% of Korean. For more informations about Ilbe, please visit Wikipedia.

2) Soranet

This website has nearly 1 million users. They usually take photos of naked women (usually family, girlfriend, partner, etc) which is now blocked in Korea. However, they still used this website by using VPN and on Soranet twitter they provide new website address when the old address is blocked by Korean Government. The users paralyse a woman and seek people to rape her on this community. They upload ‘revenge porno’ on this website. 5. Sexism in K-Drama

In K-Drama, there are many kiss scenes and one of the famous kiss is called ‘ambush kiss’ men kiss without permission which is sexually harassing and often use their strength to kiss. For more information, visit this blog.

4. Korea violent crimes and female victims

According to Ministry of Gender Equality and Family of Korea, the gap of gender in violent crimes are very high. The black indicates the number of violent crimes caused in each year and red indicated the number of women victims.
